Vintage Satin-Back Shantung Gown with Keyhole Back and Ruffle Train

Mia blends vintage sophistication with sculptural drama — a 1940s-inspired bridal gown crafted in satin-back shantung, complete with a sheath-to-trumpet silhouette, beaded lace detailing, and a breathtaking ruffled train. Designed for the bride who wants classic elegance with a twist.

Key Design Features

  • Silhouette:

    • Hybrid sheath/trumpet shape: sleek and fitted through the front, with a dramatic ruffled flare in back

    • Train mimics a soft bustle with ruffles extending from either side and a scalloped lace hem

  • Fabrication:

    • Satin-back shantung for a structured, vintage feel

    • Beaded lace accents on the shoulders, keyhole, and train hem

    • Illusion tulle used in the back bodice and shoulders for softness and visual layering

Bodice Details

  • Front Bodice:

    • High scoop neckline with raglan seams leading into a halter-style shantung neck strap

    • Darted construction with built-in boning and bra cups for lift and support

    • Fully structured shantung front for clean, tailored lines

  • Back Bodice:

    • All-tulle illusion back with a wide, dramatic keyhole framed by hand-placed lace

    • Satin-covered buttons close the neckline at the top of the keyhole

    • Two loose shantung drape straps cross beneath the keyhole, connecting halter to side seams for added visual interest

 Skirt & Train

  • Front of the skirt flows in a sleek sheath silhouette, hugging the hips

  • Back flares into a trumpet-style ruffle train, framed on both sides by fabric ruffles for a touch of Victorian drama

  • Beaded scalloped lace embellishes the hem between the ruffles, echoing the lace on the shoulders and bodice

Styling & Accessories

For a gown as detailed and romantic as Mia, we suggest veils that enhance the vintage glamour without overwhelming the silhouette. Keep the jewelry simple and delicate, opting for a pair of stud earrings and hair piece over a necklace or drop earrings.

Veil Pairings:

  • Jane Veil – A timeless soft tullé veil, perfect in Chapel or Cathedral length to flow with the ruffled train without distracting from the lace and straps

  • Lena Veil – Chapel or Cathedral length veil with beaded accents for a subtle nod to the shimmering lace
