The Creation of a Gown
A step-by-step look at how each Rachel Elizabeth Bridal collection comes to life—from the first spark of inspiration to the final photograph.

Inspiration
Inspiration is always brewing for Rachel. Whether it’s a new song that moves her, a dreamy image on Pinterest, or a swatch of lace from a supplier—she saves it all for later. Once it’s time to start a collection, she selects a theme and mood, then curates songs and visuals to tell the story. With that foundation set, she begins to sketch.

Collection Development
With music playing and her inspiration collage in view, Rachel sketches whatever flows from her imagination—sometimes creating 40+ designs. From there, she narrows them down to a tight, refined selection of 20 or fewer gowns. This process ensures only the most intentional silhouettes, fabrics, and ideas make it into the collection.

Patterns & Fit Sample
Now it’s time to bring the designs into 3D form. Rachel personally drafts every pattern—a rare and valuable skill in today’s industry. Creating the patterns in-house gives her total control over each shape and seam. Fit samples are sewn to refine the fit before cutting into our delicate, high-end fabrics.

Sample Sewing
Sample sewing is one of the most exciting steps in the process. Rachel and Sharon work side-by-side to bring each gown to life—and often, Rachel is behind the machine herself. She loves having a hands-on role in this stage, ensuring that her vision is translated perfectly into fabric. Being directly involved allows her to make adjustments in real time—whether a lace placement needs tweaking or a sleeve needs more drama. Seeing the designs evolve at this stage is always a joy.

Photoshoot
Once the gowns are perfected, it’s time to photograph them! Selecting the right venue, models, and photographer is a thoughtful process. Every detail—from the setting to the hair and makeup—must reflect the mood of the collection. When it all comes together, it feels like magic.
