Wedding Theme: Vintage Elegance

Bridal Wear

This is Odette from the So close 2020 collection.  I chose this dress to go with this blog because of its simple  elegance, and  the beautiful beaded lace on the bodice.

Grooms Wear

For the Groom, I went with a classic brown tweed suit and a bow tie. This will be very comfortable for the groom and makes it easy to move in.

Bridal Beauty

For makeup I went with very simple eyeshadow and a bold lip color, which would have been a typical  everyday makeup look from 1930-1950.

For hair I chose to have a classic look, with the hair curled and nicely framed around the face.

Wedding Colors

I chose these colors to pull into a vintage feel, the dark red makes things feel elegant. Brown to pull into the suit and to have as a nice nutrual color, along with the ivory and black.

Wedding Flowers

I chose this bouquet because of how the bigger flowers matching the beaded lace flowers on the back bodice of the dress. But also because of the colors and the size of the bouquet, which includes the deep red and ivory from the chosen color palette.

Decor

With the decor I tried to keep it simple with small details to make things pop and stand out. With the record player and the place settings being gold, it add a nice metallic that pairs well with the dark red.

Cake

I wanted to keep the cake very simple and only add some of the dark red flowers on it, to have lots of contrast. Very simple but it will still pop and fit in nicely.

Food

For food and drinks, I also wanted to keep it simple. I have the old glass Coke bottle just in a bucket with ice and people can just grab the one they want. The large amount of cookies just in a nice wooden bin. Then nice individual pound cakes filled with cream and jelly. The drink tower is very reminiscent of a time gone by and might be served before, during or after the dinner.
